I need to install 7z to extract 7z files?

For extracting multiple files i just need to extract from 001 file because the next part will be automagically extracted by 7z right? As example i have filename.7z.001 and filename.7z.002, i only need to put both files in same directory, right click and extract filename.7z.001 right? but i have to make sure they have same filename right?

Something is wrong, i can't extract the 001 file! I think i will combine all files (files.7z.001 - files.7z.999) with HJSplit so it will produce single 7z file, and then extract it. Will that work too?

To combine multiple files into single 7z file using HJSplit, I click "Join" then pick the first split file (e.g. files.7z.001) and then click start and waiting until they all are combined. HJSplit takes the next split file automatically while joining the files, right?

I know 7z is free, but can I use Winrar instead? I will make sure it is latest version, because old winrar version unable to extract 7z files perfectly, right?

SHA-1 is used to compare if the file i downloaded is the same as yours, to check, right click my downloaded file and click "CRC SHA" then "SHA-1". Compare its value with one provided in corresponding post. But to do that, i need latest version of 7z, beta version, not regular 9.20 version created few years ago?
